Znanstvena monografija prinaša interdisciplinarni nabor razprav, ki osvetljujejo kompleksno razmerje med jezikom, družbo in kulturo ter izpostavljajo vlogo jezikov kot dejavnikov tako povezovanja kot razdvajanja v sodobnem večjezičnem prostoru. Zbrani prispevki z različnih teoretičnih in metodoloških perspektiv obravnavajo vprašanja večjezičnosti, jezikovne politike, medkulturne komunikacije, diskurzivne moči ter didaktičnih pristopov k poučevanju jezikov in književnosti, pri čemer posebno pozornost namenjajo tudi izzivom digitalne dobe. Monografija pomembno prispeva k razumevanju jezikovnih praks kot prostora oblikovanja identitet, družbenih odnosov in vrednot ter odpira možnosti za razvoj vključujočih, demokratičnih in medkulturno občutljivih komunikacijskih in izobraževalnih praks.
Knjiga je izšla s finančno podporo Javne agencije za znanstvenoraziskovalno in inovacijsko dejavnost Republike Slovenije.
